I scored Saturday night! We were at the bowling alley, get your minds out of the gutter!

** Please don't forget to enter my GO GREEN GIVEAWAY, which ends this Thursday, 12/10/09, at 7:00 a.m. CST. A set of 6 reusable produce bags and a coffee coozie! Great gifts for yourself or for your favorite Greenie this holiday season.**

Friends, I was on fire when we went bowling with friends on Saturday night. My previous high score was 100. I beat that! So of course I had to take a photo of the scoreboard. Obviously I'm "Ernie," which is my nickname from childhood. My younger brother Mark couldn't pronounce "Erin," so Sesame Street presented the perfect alternative. Anyshizzle, here it is:

I also got several strikes, which is virtually unheard of. You see, I am a complete klutz. I have no atheletic ability to speak of and I was always last to be chosen for teams in P.E. And on our wedding night, my Maid of Honor really did warn Hubs in her speech about my ineptitude, citing the time I tripped and fell unconscious in the gym. We were playing volleyball. Who knew?!

As you can see, I'm gloating very pleased with myself. Note the bowling pin shaped beers. I wish I could say I'm the gorgeous girl on the right, but that's my friend Julie (a.k.a. Demi on the scoreboard). I'm the geek with the grin on the left who is laughing hysterically.

Then on Sunday we took the girls to Mazel Tots, a program for little ones at our synagogue. This week's theme was Hanukkah because it starts on Friday night. They colored, ate some latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganyiot (jelly donuts), sang the Dreidel song, and listed to a Hanukkah story. It was great fun!

The girls' 4th birthday is on Wednesday, so stay tuned for a very weepy thoughtful post mid-week. And I'll be back tomorrow for Post-It Note Tuesday, which I missed last week. I'm in serious withdrawal!

Erin you are so silly. I wish I could say I was the pretty one on the right? Are you just blind? Cut it out! You are beautiful inside and out!

Great score! The only bowling I can do is Wii bowling!

And a Happy Birthday to your little ones- early.

My oldest turns FIVE this week.

I like how your definition of several is 3.

Way to set the bar low.

My son, Ezra, turns 1 on Wednesday! Congrats on the Rockin' bowling score. I am one of those people who either strikes or hits one pin. Nothing in between.

We've been reading this Magic Dreidel book that my sis sent last year for Christmas and Ella loves it.

I know nada about bowling, other than I suck at it, so I will just assume that scoreboard thingee means you were awesome. I think your smile says that too. You are such a cutie.

What a great weekend! :)

I think you are SO cute! Love your smile! And way to go on the bowling. I've never been.

I suck at bowling. The best score I ever got? 68. Yikes.
You and your daughters are GORGEOUS!!
Funny story...my niece is named Erin. When she was born my little guy was going through this stage where every name got an "eee" sound on the end. Horsee, Nana-eee, Papa-eee, Pizza-eee...anyway, he called her Erin-eee. So my youngest who was just starting to talk called her NeeNee. So we have called her Nini forever. And she calls me Mimi and so that's where that came from. She'll come up to me and go "You mimi, I nini!" Cute.

I remember the first time I scored over 100, I was so pleased! I didn't even need bumpers!
Sounds like a fun weekend :)

Ha! I love your title, scored, gutter, brilliant. I am the worst bowler in history, I think I've only gotten over 100 like once or twice? Glad you had fun!

Woo Hoo! What do you mean you're not athletic? Bowlers are sort of athletes. WTG!

So, you're telling me you had the bumpers up, right? How else can you get a straight?

You're girls are adorable!!

I'm pretty sure you just beat my highest score in bowling.

I'm preparing for the sappy birthday posts as we speak (umm... write). ;)

It is so nice to hear someone else just trying to break the 100 mark. I can't bowl anymore because my hand will fall off but I can certainly appreciate your most gleeful grin!!!!

I bowl once, maybe twice, a year. So getting over 100 is a big deal for me too. I do need to find those bowling pin shaped beers, though, so it may be time for a bowling outing.

You are the Bowling Queen! You look adorable there on the left.

I can only bowl on the Wii, I manage to get several strikes. I suspect it has something to do with our bowling alleys uneven floors or something.

I'm no good at real bowling, but I ROCK at wii bowling--I'm a pro, even.

Thanks for sharing your Hanukkah traditions--it sounds wonderful.

Love the pin shaped bottles at bowling!

Please share more of your Hanukkah traditions, not that big here in Australia but it's interesting!

Noelle said...

woohooo on the bowling score! now all you need is a cool shirt and a team! you look so happy in that picture!

your girls are adorable!

Breaking 100 is always a milestone. I'm glad you did so well, and you obviously had a great time. Those pin shaped bottles are so appropriate for the bowling alley.

I'm sure your girls will have a great birthday because you'll be running the show.

"Mazel Tots"...I love that!!! Little things amuse me...I'll admit. I love playing with words!!!

December birthdays are AWESOME!!! Ok, well...maybe not so much.

But girls with December birthdays are AWESOME!!! We rock, little ladies!!!

I'm the worst bowler in history. It takes talent to be as bad as me.

You, me dear, are a true badass with a bowling ball!

My Polish grandma makes awesome potato pancakes. Love them.

My daughter turns 3 in Feb, and I am already sad thinking about that!

And get outta here with the pretty friend on the right. She is beautiful for sure...but so are you!

Did someone call themselves Coolguy on the scoreboard? :)

I am really bad at bowling. I try but I'm just...really bad.

Ashley said...

Nice game! I haven't played "real" bowling for a long, long time. I play Wii bowling every now and then.

I'm sure you are more athletic than I am! I refuse to bowl without the bumpers.
