Wordless Wednesday: Crazy Bird Lady & What Little Jewish Girls Do With Easter Baskets

Just for Ian over at The Daily Dose of Reality, I am participating in Wordless Wednesday, which I don't normally do. Because Ian is a fellow Jew, I know he especially will appreciate photos of my little Jewish darlings at their first Easter Egg Hunt. Our sweet neighbors invited us, and we love to expose the girls to all different religions, holidays, etc...
I made these for some of our neighbors. This is about as crafty as I get, people. I borrowed the idea
from another mommy who brought them as gifts to the teachers at school. So I can't take credit for it.
The neighbors brought us to their country club and they had birds and owls on display! LOVED IT!
Me and Izzy
The Father Load and Izzy
Crazy Bird Lady and Toucan trying to eat her necklace.

One of the birds even rode a bike. The kiddos were completely enamored.

Little Jewish girls don't know what to do with Easter baskets, so they became hats.
The Father Load with Abby on the left and Izzy on the right.
The four of us. Izzy is on the left. Abby is between me & The Father Load.
It is impossible to get everyone to look at the camera all at once.

Those girls are about as cute as cute can get. And I say that in my best non-creep voice. that wasn't too creepy, right?

Thats cute!

They're adorable! If it makes you feel better, little Mormon girls put them on their heads too (only when they devour all of the candy first, though!).

Abby looks just like her mommy.

And the crazy bird lady's shirt matches the tablecloth. Or couch. Or whatever that is.

Super cute family pics! I still have to post my lovely Easter pics of my kids. (They are horrible!) They are half-Jews so they understand the Easter basket tradition, or should I say Christmas 2.0 (with cheaper toys). It's ridiculous.

It's a dual purpose basket...to hold things and to then look simply gorgeous! :) Loved the pictures of your family time.

P.S. Is your shirt with the ruffle front from Banana?

What a beautiful family you have! Thanks so much for sharing your day with us.

Also, I was happy to see Crazy Bird Lady was thoughtful enough to cover the floor with plastic. Bawk-bawk, splat!

Erin, your family is beautiful, including you, Momma.

My sister converted to Judaism when she married her husband. She was just down visiting a few weeks ago and asked me if we could color Easter Eggs since her 4 year old daughter, Lena, had never done that before. Lena wanted nothing to do with it. It might have been the new Barbie I had just bought her that distracted her. But, I told my sister, she's just being true to her Jewish faith. No Jesus for You!!!

Your title is priceless, Erin! I laughed at the owl sizing up Izzy and the Fatherload and then I laughed ever harder when I realized that perhaps your girls will now think that exotic birds exhibits are just as much an Easter tradition as egg hunts are.

PS- you are practically glowing in those pictures- gorgeous, girl!

Beautiful pictures of beautiful family...I might want to "borrow" them for my post...you don't mind, do you??? I mean, really, they're BEAUTIFUL, God bless them and you!

I love what you did with the gifts; how pretty they look...and different. Great job, Erin! Good for you!

Very cute pictures! And honestly, I think all children put their baskets on their heads at one point or another. One that is one of the main reasons that I don't put that fake grass in it...

Those are really cute gifts! Great job!

Nice! I love the shots and the outfits on the girls! hey, what s a basket if it doesn't go on your head at some point?!

Love it! Especially the Easter bunny hats! I also love your decorative candies. I hate the taste of peeps so using them as decoration might be a great idea for next Easter! :)

LOVE the pictures!! You should do WW more often for sure!!

Easter looks like it was a ton of fun! Those birds were pretty cool. Although I dont think I would like one to be eating my jewelry.

I think it's so cool that you went to the egg hunt and I love the girls' dresses and hats! wink, wink! Great family pick too! :)

The girl with the flour in her hair said...

Cute, cute pictures! Although I think I'd be a bit afraid that Toucan would go for the throat...

And really, the only appropriate place for peeps are in vases. :)

JoeyRes said...

I see you have been adequately notified that it's not Judaism that caused your kids to make hats out of their baskets! I'll spare you that sentiment! Really cute photos and it makes me feel okay for accidentally telling my Jewish mom acquaintance "Happy Easter". I realized why she gave me a strange look after I walked away! If you can take your kids to an Easter egg hunt, she can say thanks for my ill-placed holiday cheer!

Superb family photo. You are an attractive bunch, indeed.

Also, these photos just shattered all notions I had about country-club life. Freakin' birds on bicycles. WHO KNEW?
